Sex with a primate included: experts explained why a macaque raped a tourist

The incident took place in Cambodia

A British tourist, traveling in Cambodia with friends, suffered a shocking attack in his sleep: at night in his own room he woke up from the fact that… a large monkey was making love to him! But the warnings of British zoologists turned out to be even more shocking: a female great ape who “sinned” once with a person can become a cannibal – that is, a man-lover. Or simply put, a sex recidivist, whose libido will be directed exclusively at human males.

We asked domestic experts for their opinions on this matter.

By Thursday afternoon, the “primate sex attack on humans” was being discussed by the entire World Wide Web, but we found the original source on the social network X (ex-Twitter). The photos and videos, as it turned out, were posted by friends of the monkey victim. But they have already received it from him for disgracing him, and now they are reluctant to share what they saw. Sofir Sozi, a local Russian-speaking guide, says:

“We warn all guests that they need to close the windows,” says an employee of the Cambodian tourism industry. – On all floors where trees reach. The rooms have air conditioning and there is no need to keep the windows open. It’s no secret that our monkeys are very similar to people – they can steal and rape, depending on their mood. And this guy fell asleep with the window open.

It turns out that a group of young British people, who were actively exploring the country, arrived late that evening, very tired, and one of the tourists actually fell asleep without locking the window. He woke up from pleasant sensations, but what he saw instantly dispelled them. A large monkey bent over the traveler’s private parts, having previously unbuttoned his pants. His friends, who had spent the night behind the wall, came running to the scream of the victim of forced oral sex from the female primate.

“You see, he was screaming, but he was afraid to move, otherwise she would get nervous and bite off his penis,” one of the eyewitnesses shares on condition of strict anonymity. “That’s why our friend lay quietly and screamed. Our appearance also did not bother his attacker. How could he not have died of horror yet, her tail was so long hanging from the bed! We were also scared and therefore left the room. We approached his window from the street and began to lure the monkey out with a banana. But she liked our friend more. We filmed everything on the phone so that we could show it to the doctors later; now he’ll probably need some injections…

Indeed, having freed himself from the rapist only when she herself was tired of having fun with a British tourist, the guy discovered that his friends, instead of saving him, managed to post a video that disgraced him on a social network. The young man immediately packed his things and flew home to England, having previously deleted his accounts. But this did not save him: his “case” with the macaque is already being discussed not only by idle users, but also by highbrow zoologists. It’s no joke: an audio recording and two photographs of the process of intimacy with a long-tailed macaque, as British scientists identified it, collected more than 2.6 million views and 3 thousand bookmarks in less than 24 hours, which means that the British are ready to look at “this” again and again.

“Sexual activity for pleasure, and not just for reproduction, is observed in apes, orangutans and chimpanzees,” says Angel Gael, a zoologist from Spain. – But it is in Cambodia that there lives a species that is as close as possible to anthropoids – small apes or gibbons. They may well desire sex with a person simply for the sake of sex. And their brain and memory are so developed that success is recorded there. That is, if a primate liked sex with a person, he will, like predators, look for human flesh again and again. But only with other goals: not to devour, but to love.

“I’ve been working with great apes for 57 of my 69 years,” says People’s Artist of Russia, trainer Aziz Askaryan, “and I started with macaques; I had my first macaque when I was still a teenager, at school. All my life I have served the Soviet and then the Russian circus, and I know for sure that animals are capable of love, capable of feelings. And especially chimpanzees, they are as close as possible to humans across the entire spectrum of emotions. What you are saying is terrible for me to hear! Only perverts can persuade an animal to do this!
