Sergey Karyakin, President of the Moscow Region Chess Federation, held a master class for fighters in the special operation zone. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Sports of the Moscow Region.
According to Karjakin, he played with the military at the end of May. It is specified that the master class took place in the DPR, the position was near the front line.
– While we were playing, loud shots were heard several times, so the conditions of the game were not easy. I often travel to the DNR and LNR, meet with the military. This year I have been several times, – shared the grandmaster.
Also within the framework of this trip, the children’s “Sergey Karyakin Cup” was held, in which over 100 young chess players took part.
The sports department added that earlier Karjakin had spoken out in support of the CBO, because of this he was suspended from tournaments for six months by the International Chess Federation. In May of this year, he announced that he would not play in the international chess arena in a neutral status.
