Sergey Garmash: Guys, let’s live together

On the first day of the New Year, the long-awaited family comedy “Cheburashka” with Sergei Garmash, who played Gena, is released in wide release.

The picture in the course of filming was overgrown with all sorts of legends and anecdotes, which only fuels the audience’s interest in it. Moreover, it was filmed by director Dmitry Dyachenko, each new work of which – whether it’s “The Last Hero” or “What Men Talk About”, “Kitchen” or “Super Beavers” – arouses the liveliest interest in the audience.

“This is a fictional, imaginary story that takes place in a certain seaside town,” says Sergey Garmash, “where unusual events and even miracles happened. Our message is incredibly simple: “Guys, let’s live together.” Today, when we reach the finish line, the shooting itself is remembered with a smile. They were not easy, especially on the expedition: we were very unlucky with the weather. Our wonderful extras during heavy night shifts, when the air temperature dropped to 5 – 6 ° C, depicted a holiday, summer and joy. It was incredibly touching. There were a lot of firsts for me on this shoot. I have done family stories many times, but here the genre is a bit different. Dima Dyachenko managed to create some absolutely magical atmosphere on the site. We all felt that the filming of a fabulous movie was going on. In addition, all participants in the process were very fond of Cheburashka. So the project gave a charge of positive and healing. A very unusual feeling.

A restless character from an unknown orange country in the new comedy will have fun adventures. An unsociable old gardener, a fashionable aunt and her capricious granddaughter, a boy who will not start talking, and his mother, who cooks the most delicious chocolate in the world, will help and hinder him.

By the way, the last frame of the film was made in a chocolate factory. Then the group took a long time to revive the title furry hero: in the comedy, animated characters and live artists work side by side. Cheburashka came to life with the help of live shooting CG-graphics and motion capture technologies.

But the main antagonist of the film is the director of the chocolate factory Rimma, played by Elena Yakovleva. By the way, in a week on the channel “Russia” Elena will release a wonderful series “The Lady with the Dog”, where she will play the retired detective Agatha, who is actively fighting for justice. In Cheburashka, her heroine is driven by completely opposite feelings.

Filming of “Cheburashka” was carried out on the Sochi embankment, in Kislovodsk and Pyatigorsk, in the Arboretum park and in orange groves.
