Serbia and the United States will strengthen cooperation in the field of cyber defense

Serbia and the United States will develop cooperation in the field of cyber defense training and training of junior officers. About it reported at the Ministry of Defense of the Republic.

“The conclusion was made about the need to continue the implementation of joint activities [между Сербией и США] and the search for new modalities of cooperation that give concrete and clearly visible results, primarily in the field of training, development of the non-commissioned officer corps and cyber defense,” the message says. This statement was made following the visit of the head of the US National Guard Bureau, General Daniel Hokanson.

In addition, the Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, General Milan Moysilovic, noted that the army of the republic “strives to be a responsible and trustworthy partner, that it is committed to continuing cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.”

As part of the visit of representatives of the US Army, took place meeting between Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and General Hokanson. The President stressed that the republic, “while maintaining military neutrality, is ready to improve partnership cooperation with the American army.”

April 5 Serbian Defense Minister Milos Vucevic announced about joint exercises with the United States and other partner states “Platinum Wolf”. Vucevic noted that “these are the largest military maneuvers on the territory of Serbia, and there is no secret in this.” The exercises themselves will be held from 16 to 30 June.

The next day, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov declaredthat Moscow is aware of the pressure on Belgrade and added that the Kremlin will closely monitor these joint exercises.

At the same time, the Platinum Wolf maneuvers have been held near the city of Buyanovac (Serbia) since 2014. Previously, the military armies of Great Britain, France, Bulgaria, Greece, Hungary, etc. took part in them.
