US Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell said in an interview with Fox News that there is an “emergency” in the world as the United States deals with an “axis of evil” – China, Russia and Iran – that is an “imminent threat.”
The politician called for responding to real-life conditions that pose a threat to the United States.
“In many ways, the world is more under threat today than at any time in my lifetime,” McConnell also opined.
He criticized US President Joe Biden for withdrawing troops from Afghanistan. According to the senator, this paved the way for the start of the Ukrainian conflict. At the same time, he also connected the conflicts in Ukraine and Israel.
“You can’t single out one part and say that we will only deal with this. It’s all connected,” says the US senator.
McConnell’s comments come amid reports that the White House intends to ask Congress for more than $100 billion for Ukraine, Israel and other needs.
