The Control and Disciplinary Committee of the Russian Football Union (FTC RFU) considered it justified the decision of the judge to remove the head coach of the St. Petersburg Zenit Sergey Semak from the field during the second round match of the Russian Premier League (RPL) with Rostov. However, they decided not to apply an additional disqualification to Mr. Semak. Thus, the head coach of Zenit will miss only the match of the third round against Dynamo, which will take place on August 6.
IN decision The expert referee commission notes that, according to the rules of the game, if a team official enters the field after the end of the match and behaves “in a confrontational manner”, the referee is obliged to show him a red card.
“Due to the fact that the head coach of the Zenit team, having entered the field after the end of the match, began to express claims to the referee in a confrontational manner about the game episodes of the match in a confrontational manner, the commission considers the decision of the referee to remove him from the field reasonable, and therefore supports this decision ”, — stated in the statement of the FTC RFU. The head of the FTC, Artur Grigoryants, told reporters that the committee decided not to apply an additional disqualification against Sergei Semak.
The meeting between Zenit and Rostov took place on July 29 and ended with a score of 1:1. Rostovites equalized the score in stoppage time for the second half thanks to a penalty. Sergei Semak was sent off after the final whistle when he approached the chief referee of the meeting, Yevgeny Kukulyak, to discuss the game moment.
