According to the US State Department, Secretary of State Antony Blinken held talks with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres ahead of the 78th session of the organization’s General Assembly.
During the conversation, they discussed various issues, including the Black Sea Grain Initiative, the military conflict in Ukraine and the security situation in Haiti.
Guterres is working to restore the grain deal, which ensured the supply of grain from Ukraine to the world market through Black Sea ports, which ended on July 18.
Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that during the implementation of the deal, agreements regarding Russia were not fulfilled, and most of the grain did not go to countries in need, but to the West.
