Secrecy of British King Charles III's medical records raises concerns

A scandal erupts due to the leak of Kate Middleton’s hospital data

The medical records of Britain’s King Charles III were not available during the “data leak” of the Princess of Wales’s London clinic records.

King Charles III was also treated at a private hospital for an enlarged prostate the same month Kate had surgery at the clinic, but it is believed his records were not reviewed inappropriately.

As Sky News notes, it is understood the king’s medical records were not accessed during the alleged data breach at the London clinic.

According to The Mirror, as many as three employees may have been involved in the alleged access to the Princess of Wales’s private records after Kate was discharged from an exclusive hospital in central London in January.

Charles III, who is being treated for a form of cancer, was also treated at a London clinic for an enlarged prostate gland during the same month.

But it is understood the security of the monarch’s personal data was not compromised, according to the source who spoke to the PA news agency.

The clinic has now promised that “all appropriate investigative, regulatory and disciplinary action will be taken” in relation to any alleged violation.

Al Russell, chief executive of the London Clinic, said: “Our hospital has no place for anyone who would deliberately abuse the trust of any of our patients or colleagues.”

The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), Britain’s privacy watchdog, launched an investigation when the claims emerged yesterday and is in the process of assessing the information, Sky News notes.

Kate Middleton was discharged from a private hospital on January 29 after undergoing abdominal surgery for an unknown reason.

The Princess of Wales had not been seen in public since her last royal engagement at Christmas until she was photographed sitting in a car driven by her mother Carole Middleton near Windsor.

The future Queen of Great Britain was spotted on Saturday at a Windsor Farm store with her husband, Crown Prince William.

King Charles III was discharged from hospital on the same day as Kate and it was later revealed that he had been diagnosed with cancer. Buckingham Palace has not disclosed what type of cancer he is being treated for.

However, the Princess of Wales’ absence from public life and the lack of details about her condition are fueling wild conspiracy theories on social media, Sky News highlights. This speculation prompted the release of the infamous Mother’s Day photograph of Kate, which was subsequently “killed” by a number of major film agencies when it was revealed that the image had been doctored.
