Nizhny Novgorod “Seagull” on September 3 started in the new season of the Russian Ice Hockey Championship among youth teams. As the current owner of the Kharlamov Cup, “The Seagull” had to open the new season with a match at the home arena against an opponent in the final confrontation of the last season. The owners of the Cup of the East and the silver medalists of the Kharlamov Cup – “Omsk Hawks” came to Nizhny Novgorod.
The first match of the season did not go according to the scenario of the Nizhny Novgorod team. “Chaika” scored two goals, but they were canceled, and the guests from Omsk managed to distinguish themselves by the rules in three cases and win a landslide victory in the first match of the 2023-2024 season. “Omsk Hawks” took revenge, but the championship is just beginning.
On September 4, a replay of the two best teams in the Eastern Conference following the results of last season will take place. The kick-off will take place at 18:00.
