“Seagull” defeated “Omsk Hawks” in the second match

Hockey players of the Nizhny Novgorod Chaika on September 4 played a rematch against the Omsk Hawks as part of the new MHL season. In the first match, held on September 3, Nizhny Novgorod experienced big problems converting chances and were defeated 3-0, starting the 2023-2024 season with a defeat, which happened for the first time since 2019.
The second match turned out to be more productive and fun. Hockey players “Seagulls” took to the ice with a great desire to win the first victory of the season and to please the numerous fans who gathered in the stands of the Palace of Sports named after Viktor Konovalenko.
The hosts of the ice were the first to concede, but rallied and took the lead, and finally formalized the victory in the middle of the 3rd period, when Yegor Kupriyanov scored the third goal of the Chaika in the match. Wards Alexei Isakov won the first victory of the season, beating the “Omsk Hawks” with a score of 3:2.
On September 8 and 9, 2 more home matches of the Nizhny Novgorod Chaika will take place. The current holders of the Kharlamov Cup will play against the Siberian Snipers, who made their debut on September 4 in the Golden Division.
