Scooter rental services have resumed operation in Moscow due to above-zero temperatures

In Moscow, as of October 31, amid warming temperatures, scooter rental services resumed operation, the Moscow Department of Transport reported. Rental services will operate until mid-November. If favorable weather conditions persist, their service life will be extended.
“We see that, despite the autumn coolness, you are actively renting electric scooters. This season you have already made 62 million trips, which is almost 2.5 times more than in 2022. Be careful on the road and follow simple rules: drive at a speed no higher than 25 km/h, dismount at pedestrian crossings, wear protective pads on your knees and elbows,” the Department of Transport noted.
According to the latest amendments to the traffic rules, the speed of electric scooters, electric skateboards, unicycles, hoverboards, Segways and other personal mobility devices (IM) is limited to 25 km/h, traveling together is prohibited. The authorities plan to tighten control over the movement of electric scooters and other SIMs by the end of the year. We are talking, in particular, about new fines for traffic violations, mandatory registration of SIM in the digital registry and the creation of a user identification system.
