Scientists have revealed the personality of those who binge watch videos.
Scientists from the Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology have found that “regular” viewers who use online platforms to watch videos and those who support “binge” viewing have opposite personality traits.
“Ordinary” viewers were more often open to new experiences and had a need for knowledge than those who did not use the services. Presumably, a propensity for cognition was manifested in an interest in educational and documentary videos.
Openness to new experiences, a propensity for learning, as well as emotional stability and conscientiousness among those who practiced binge-watching films, on the contrary, were “below average.”
