University of Pennsylvania psychology professor Marissa Harrison has written a book listing the main characteristics of American female serial killers. Gazeta.ru. “The book includes 27 case studies. At the same time, female serialists more often choose someone they know. At the same time, they are more than twice as likely as men to kill a spouse or partner. That is, they tend to choose the vulnerable — the elderly, the sick, or children.
In addition to the psychological moments, which, in fact, the book is devoted to, the authors also spoke about other important typical features of American maniacs. They are usually around 20-30 years old, Christian (which is not strange for the USA), have an average intelligence and an attractiveness of average or higher. And here is the most unexpected.
“In fact, we found that 39% of female serial killers were nurses or medical professionals,” admits Harrison.
Thus, one could consider that the new book has destroyed all the stereotypes of the modern perception of the best part of humanity. It would be possible if it were not for the authors’ remark: about 40% of female killers suffered from mental disorders.
