Researchers at the University of Dundee in Scotland found that fast, upbeat music helps babies fall asleep faster. The study was published in the journal Psychological Studies.
The study involved 100 families with children under the age of one week. Scientists tracked how quickly children fell asleep in silence, with fast and slow music.
It turned out that the children fell asleep faster with the music than in silence. And under cheerful music faster than under slow.
Scientists have noted that when music is played, babies are more likely to close their eyes. The authors plan to continue to study how children react to melodies.
