Scientists have found out how to effectively deal with migraine pain

Swedish scientists from the University of Malmö seem to have found a new way to help people suffering from migraines. In any case, the pigs on which everything was tested would definitely feel better, researchers write in the International Journal of Pharmaceuticals, if the pigs suffered from migraines.
We are talking about a new mechanism for the delivery of a previously well-known drug. Anti-migraine pain relievers use triptans, drugs based on tryptamine. The trouble is that if it is taken in the form of tablets, the required concentration in the body is not reached quickly enough, part of the drug is simply digested in vain. Scientists believe they can get around this problem by “cutting the road” for the drug and allowing it to enter the bloodstream through the oral mucosa, explains “Gazeta.ru”.
“We investigated the possibility of EB (eletriptan hydrobromide) directly entering the oral blood vessels through the mucosa under the tongue. Our preliminary results in pigs show the success of our development,” the Swedish pharmacologists reported.
However, in Malmö, people with migraines are advised not to rejoice ahead of time: the final results of the experiments will not be available until spring. Hold on.
