Biologists at the University of California, San Francisco have been able to create mouse babies from male stem cells.
This is reported by the journal Nature.
The scientists conducted the study in several stages.
First of all, the experts decided to reprogram skin cells from the tails of males into stem cells. The latter are able to transform into different types of tissues and cells.
After this operation, scientists convert stem cells from the tail of a mature male mouse into a female germ cell, which give rise to offspring after fertilization. This study allows women who are disappointed in the possibility of conception to overcome infertility voiced by doctors.
