Scientist Danilov-Danilyan announced the deterioration of all global environmental characteristics

In the field of ecology, according to Russian ecologist and scientific director of the Institute of Water Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences Viktor Danilov-Danilyan, improvement is noticeable only in relation to solving the problem of ozone holes. All other global environmental indicators, he emphasized, are deteriorating.
“Absolutely all global environmental characteristics are deteriorating, except for those, this is the only exception, that characterize the state of the ozone layer,” he said at the Altai economic forum “Thread of Nature.”
Danilov-Danilyan emphasized that the improvement in the state of the ozone layer occurred after the entry into force of the Montreal Protocol and the fulfillment of all obligations provided for in this document.
However, the scientist noted that all other global environmental indicators indicate negative dynamics: the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere is increasing, forest area is decreasing, deserts are spreading, and chemical pollution of soils continues.
