Russian science fiction writer Nikolai Perumov, who moved to the United States in 1998 and is known as Nik Perumov, spoke for the first time about a special military operation.
At night, he posted a comment on social networks, responding to fans’ requests to speak out about the SVO. The writer began with the fact that those who left Russia are deprived of the moral right to speak about the events taking place in their homeland. At the same time, he called “contemptible” those who, far from the fatal events, arrogantly talk about how they should have attacked and fought.
According to Perumov, he applies this rule to himself. But still, speaking about those who have the right to talk about the Northern Military District, he made it clear how he felt about the current events, calling the conflict in Ukraine “a great and terrible war for the reunification of Russian lands.” He added that either those who are “storming Avdiivka, defending Gorlovka or repelling attacks on Belgorod,” as well as residents of the deep rear, where an enemy drone can fly, can talk about this.
Perumov emphasized that those who left Russia will have the right to speak when they return.
Let us recall that Nik Perumov became famous for the epic “The Ring of Darkness”, which takes place in Tolkien’s Middle-earth, a cycle of works about the “Ordered” universe, which was first mentioned in the novel “Death of the Gods”. In co-authorship with Sergei Lukyanenko, he wrote the novel “No Time for Dragons” in the steampunk style, and in co-authorship with Vera Kamsha, the book “Red Mine” in the alternative history genre.
