Schools will have parenting advisors

The appearance in schools of the post of “adviser on education”, the improvement of programs for teaching the Russian language, literature and history, the development of pre-professional education, the construction of new children’s health camps, the creation of a theater in each school – I spoke about such trends and realities in the development of secondary education today on the press -conference in TASS Minister of Education of the Russian Federation Sergey Kravtsov.

Of course, a significant part of the press conference was devoted to the issue of raising children and adolescents. According to the minister, the appearance of a cycle of extracurricular activities “Conversations about the important” is precisely aimed at forming a respectful attitude of children to their country, to its history and culture. In addition, specialists in educational work will begin to appear in schools from next year. The position will be called “adviser on education”. And these specialists will be engaged in the spiritual and moral education of schoolchildren, developing their interest in learning, supporting talented children, organizing their extracurricular activities, in particular trips to theaters and museums.

Speaking about the subject curriculum, the minister noted that since January 1, 2023, the Unified Federal Program on Russian Language and Literature has already been operating in 40,000 schools. The literature program again included works by K. Simonov and A. Fadeev. Sergey Kravtsov also noted that advanced training seminars were organized for teachers in six subjects: Russian language, literature, social science, history, geography and the basics of life safety.

The Minister touched upon the cultural and sports development of schoolchildren.

“Our goal is for every school to have its own theater and sports club,” said Sergey Kravtsov. – Last year, 17 regional centers for identifying and supporting the development of abilities, 72 IT-Cube centers, 32,000 school sports clubs, 25,000 school theaters, 18,000 school museums were opened.

Another topic that the Minister of Education touched upon is the growth in the prestige of secondary vocational education over the past two or three years.

College applications rose 7% last year compared to 2021. And the percentage of schoolchildren who decided to go to college after the ninth grade is 63%, – said Sergey Kravtsov. — ️The most popular areas of free software are engineering, technology and technical sciences, social sciences, health care, and medical sciences.
