Schools and universities of the Belgorod region are switching to distance learning

Governor of the Belgorod Region Vyacheslav Gladkov received solution transfer to distance learning for two weeks all schools, colleges and universities of the regional center and nine municipalities. Kindergartens will work on duty groups.

Restrictive measures will affect educational institutions of Belgorod, Borisov, Veydelevsky, Volokonovsky, Krasnoyarzhsky and Rovno districts, as well as Valuysky, Graivoronsky, Shebekinsky and Yakovlevsky urban districts. Mr. Gladkov expressed his hope that adults would agree that children should be kept safe.

Rector of Belgorod State University Oleg Polukhin explainedthat the transition of the university to distance learning occurs in connection with the action of an increased level of terrorist threat.

“Classes will be held in accordance with the schedule using electronic educational technologies. Students leaving for this period at their place of residence must inform their curators about this. Security measures will be strengthened in the dormitories and a special visiting regime will be established,” the rector said.

An increased level of terrorist threat was introduced in the Belgorod region in April due to shelling from Ukraine. During this time, only schools in the border areas were transferred to distance learning; there were no restrictive measures in Belgorod itself.
