All for the sake of slim figures
Experts from the Russian Public Initiative proposed limiting the sale of sugar-containing products in schools. According to the authors of the petition, free access to sweets leads to an increase in the incidence of obesity among children and has a detrimental effect on their development.
As MK found out, activists are confident that today there is a problem of growing harmful effects of consumption of sugar and sugar-containing products on the health and development of children and adolescents. This is especially true for educational institutions, where in the canteens food products that are far from healthy are available for free sale. The authors are also concerned about the abundance of commercials that mislead minors that eating sweets can be beneficial. According to popular experts, the current situation is leading to a rapid increase in the incidence of obesity and related problems in the development of children. And in addition, it contributes to an increase in the number of cardiovascular diseases and the spread of the epidemic of type 2 diabetes. To solve the problem, the authors have prepared a number of ideas.
Thus, first of all, it is proposed to deprive children of access to “prohibited” services at the legislative level. Namely, to limit the sales of any sugar-containing products and drinks in the canteens of private and public schools, kindergartens and other educational institutions in the Russian Federation. So that students themselves understand why it is important to limit themselves in sweets, it is proposed to develop and introduce training courses for children, teenagers and their parents into the program.
