Schoolchildren created their own “funny” flotilla in space

Russian schoolchildren today took part in the launch of the Soyuz-2.1b launch vehicle from the Baikonur Cosmodrome, which carried, among other things, 16 spacecraft of the Space-π project.

What is “Space-pi”? This is a project of the Russian movement of schoolchildren, in which children study the history of space, meet famous astronauts, offer their own variants of launch vehicles that can launch various satellites into space, create models of orbital stations and lunar rovers, design a new module of the International Space Station, which will improve the quality of work and accommodation for astronauts. And, most importantly, they create satellites with their own hands, which are actually launched into orbit. That is why they are called the “amusing” flotilla by analogy with the “amusing” flotilla of Peter I.

Last year, more than ten satellites from this flotilla were already launched into orbit. And today sixteen more went into orbit. By the way, one of them sent an electronic carrier into space with the names of almost five thousand activists of the RDS, who in November 2021 took part in the All-Russian action “Send your name into space!”.
