School of love: what children will be taught in family studies lessons

First, the State Duma, represented by the Committee on Family, Women and Children, took care of the “family” of the school. And the other day the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation joined the important mission. The tone in the work, of course, is set by the parliament. Not all the details of the process are known, but the general approach is, in principle, clear. The ideology that guides the developers of the course is not only not hidden by them, but is promoted in every possible way.

Here, in particular, is what State Duma deputy, head of the working group on developing proposals for introducing family studies lessons into the school curriculum, Tatyana Larionova, says: “We are on the brink of an abyss. onslaught … We must talk about love, devotion, about the fact that a family is needed and necessary, our traditional family, and not what the West imposes on us.”

However, on the issue of love, the deputies do not seem to have a common opinion yet. According to, say, the first deputy chairman of the “family” committee, Tatyana Butskaya, children need to be taught that “humility and the ability to listen, not love, are paramount.” In general, there is still something to think about, something to work on. Therefore, assistance to the Duma members from the Public Chamber, I think, will not be superfluous at all.

In the Public Chamber, the goals facing family science are even more broadly conceived: according to the “public activists”, the introduction of traditional values ​​into young people should ultimately help “deal with the political problem of demography in the country.” As announced at the recent round table in the OP, the chamber sees its own task in the formation of a “scientific, methodological and expert community”, which in turn will contribute to the creation of a “methodological basis for family studies classes, which can be broadcast and recommended to all educational organizations” . In general, work – no end.

But the eyes, as they say, are afraid, but the hands are doing: the fountain of ideas has already beaten. In particular, Sergey Rybalchenko, chairman of the OP Commission on Demography, Protection of the Family, Children and Traditional Family Values, suggested involving Orthodox priests in teaching family studies. In substantiating his idea, Rybalchenko referred to history: they say that Christianity in Rus’ arose in the family – when Prince Vladimir married the Byzantine princess Anna. So, the churches are here and the cards in hand.

Well, perhaps priests will indeed be good teachers of family history. But teaching children family values ​​on the example of the life of Vladimir Svyatoslavovich, perhaps, is still not worth it. Recall that before marrying Anna, the prince was also by no means a bachelor. Moreover, his family circle, so to speak, was then much wider.

“Vladimir was defeated by lust,” reports The Tale of Bygone Years, “and he had a wife: Rogneda … from her he had four sons: Izyaslav, Mstislav, Yaroslav, Vsevolod, and two daughters; from a Greek woman he had Svyatopolk , from a Czech – Vysheslav, and from another wife – Svyatoslav and Mstislav, and from a Bulgarian – Boris and Gleb, and he had 300 concubines in Vyshgorod, 300 in Belgorod and 200 on Berestov, in a village that is now called Berestovoye. he was insatiable in fornication, bringing married women to him and corrupting maidens.

In a word, this is another question: what values ​​are more conducive to solving the problem of demography. If we formally approach the subject, then we need to return not to traditional Orthodox, but to even more ancient, pagan customs. Which, we can say with confidence, is not included in the plans of the developers of the new school course. But in this case, they should be more careful with historical analogies. History is a delicate matter.

But this is far from the biggest pitfall on the path of the new course. There are also much more serious pebbles. There is a high risk that the effect will be completely opposite to what is expected. Ask yourself: did the school instill in you a love, for example, for Russian classical literature? Few will give a positive answer. And as for most other items, the statistics will probably be similar. But mass education does not have the task of making all subjects appeal to all students. It would be, as they say, suggested.

Here the situation is completely different. Here the stakes, as we are assured, are much higher: either pan or go is a demographic catastrophe. But it’s better not to risk it at all. Well, contrary to calculations, instead of being imbued with traditional values, students will hate them for the rest of their lives?

In extreme cases, you can try to go from the opposite – to adopt the method of the poet Grigory Oster: to give children “bad advice”, causing them to want to do the opposite. By the way, Grigory Bentsionovich himself can find something on this topic. For example, this:

Not the fact, of course, that “bad advice” will work. But in any case, the harm from them will be less than from what the champions of traditional values ​​from the State Duma and the Public Chamber are proposing today.
