School games in phygital disciplines were held in the capital

The team of the capital’s “Cyberschool” became the winner of the First Moscow School Games in phygital disciplines. These are games that combine conventional sports with esports. The second place was won by the combined team of schoolchildren from the Surgut region (Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Yugra), the third place went to students of the Moscow school No. 1502.
In total, seven Moscow teams participated in the finals of the competition – these are the guys from the Cyber School, as well as the teams of schools No. 1502, 709, 1811, 1542, 956 and 2030. The team of phygital athletes of the Surgut region took part in the competition as invited guests.
According to the rules, each team had five players. They competed in such disciplines as “Basketball combined”, “Tactical combat”, “Dance marathon”. For example, in the “Basketball combined” discipline, the guys first competed on a basketball simulator, and then on a streetball court. And the “Dance Marathon” was held in the format of a simulator, where it was necessary to mirror the movements of the dancer on the screen and get into the rhythm.
As Marat Kuchushev, director of the Patriot.Sport Moscow Center, which was the organizer of the games, noted, esports competitions are now very popular among schoolchildren. In addition, they are useful because they develop strategic thinking, attention, reaction speed, and help achieve academic success.
– Traditional sports increase endurance and strength, contribute to the formation of character and leadership qualities. The Moscow School Figital Games combined physical and digital components, this is a unique event from the world of sports, science and technology, a combination of spectacular, classical and digital sports. The project is aimed at educating a completely new generation of athletes who will show excellent results on online and offline platforms, – said Marat Kuchushev.

The first Moscow school games were held in Moscow as part of the international phygital movement. It is assumed that they will be included in the Games of the Future tournament, which will be held in Kazan in 2024.
