German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, during a speech at the congress of the Social Democratic Party, held Russia responsible for stopping gas supplies to Europe.
He said rather emotionally that this had implications for energy prices.
According to Scholz, Germany lost half of the gas it received, and Europe lost 120 billion cubic meters of blue fuel.
He also announced the purchase of large volumes of gas from Norway and the construction of LNG terminals in the north to receive liquefied gas.
