The threat of nuclear escalation to the world has decreased thanks to dialogue with China and the G20 countries, declared German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Deutschlandfunk radio.
“Russia has stopped threatening to use nuclear weapons. This is a reaction to the fact that the international community has drawn a red line, ”the chancellor said on the air. According to him, dialogue with China and the G20 countries also contributed to reducing nuclear escalation.
Scholz stressed that he is ready to negotiate with Russia. This was proposed even before the Ukrainian crisis, and nothing has changed in this position, he added.

At the same time, the head of state noted that Russia’s nuclear strategy is set to be used in the event of a retaliatory strike. “We have not and are not transferring our nuclear weapons to anyone, but we will protect our allies with all the means at our disposal,” the president confirmed.
Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov insisted on the fact that Moscow refuses to participate in the nuclear rhetoric, which is actively supported by the Western media. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation also urged countries of the “nuclear five” to stop encouraging provocations.
