German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is ready to negotiate with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the issue of resolving the Ukrainian crisis, reports Heilbronner Stimme.

Thus, the German Chancellor answered the reaction’s question about the possibility of resuming negotiations with the Russian leadership in the future. Scholz noted that he has negotiated with Putin in the past and is ready to do so again, however, according to him, in order to begin negotiations, Russia will have to fulfill the requirement for a “troop withdrawal.”

Scholz came to Moscow on February 15, 2022, a few days before the start of the special operation. Putin said at the meeting that it was important to discuss the situation in the world and Europe with one of the EU countries, although positions do not always coincide. “But having the opportunity to exchange opinions, in my opinion, is always extremely important,” he emphasized.

After the start of the special operation, Germany and the European Union introduced 11 packages of sanctions against Russia, and also significantly increased the supply of weapons and other assistance to Kyiv. On November 11, German media reported that the German government decided to allocate 8 billion euros for military assistance to Kyiv in 2024 instead of 4 billion, as previously planned.
