The Security Service of Ukraine accused Russian businessman Mikhail Fridman of financing the SVO, according to a message published on Tuesday on the department’s Telegram channel.
According to the SBU, since February 2022, Fridman has allegedly invested about 2 billion rubles in several Russian military factories. He was also accused of distributing food, clothing and other products for military personnel. In addition, insurance companies associated with Fridman provided insurance for military equipment, as well as the life and health of Russian soldiers.
SBU investigators informed Fridman about the suspicion under part 3 of article 110-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine “Financing of actions committed with the aim of forcibly changing or overthrowing the constitutional order or seizing state power, changing the boundaries of the territory or state border of Ukraine, committed by a group of persons by prior agreement.”
In August, the US Treasury imposed sanctions on Friedman, Petr Aven, Alexei Kuzmichev, German Khan, and the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.
