Since 2019, the bank has had a program to support borrowers affected by emergency situations. These include fires, explosions, floods, plane crashes and much more. Since 2022, the perimeter of this program includes clients living and evacuated in border areas, and clients who were injured or died during the SVO.

The press service of the credit institution reported that since the beginning of the special operation, the bank has been focusing on ensuring the continuity of activities in the border areas. Particular attention is paid to clients in the Belgorod and Kursk regions.

“Sberbank completely writes off all types of loans in the event of the death of our clients from military or terrorist actions in border territories. For those injured or evacuated from the border territories of the Russian Federation, an interest-free deferment on payments is available for a period of up to a year,” the press service said in a statement.

In addition, Sber employees are constantly in touch with authorities at the bank’s offices, are on duty at public collection points, and go to clients to provide consultations and help with paperwork.
