Sarkozy called on the EU to find the courage to move to diplomacy on Ukraine

Former French President Nicolas Sarkozy said in an interview with Figaro that the EU must take the liberty of breaking the deadlock over Ukraine, as Europe’s interests do not coincide with those of the Americans.
“We can’t stick to the strange idea of ’waging war without going into it,'” the former French leader said, stressing the need to clarify Europe’s strategy, especially as the conflict drags on.
According to Sarkozy, diplomacy and negotiations are the only way to find an acceptable solution.
“Nothing is possible without compromise,” the politician stressed, warning that Europe faces risks and the situation could worsen at any moment.
