Samsung at Samsung Galaxy Unpacked Online Event introduced a new generation of foldable smartphones Galaxy Z Flip4 and Galaxy Z Fold4.
Both devices received an optimized body design with a less visible hinge, smaller screen bezels and a reduced weight of the smartphone. The reinforced aluminum frame is paired with Corning Gorilla Victus+ protective glass, while the main screen is more protected with redesigned layering. Smartphones have retained moisture protection according to the IPX8 standard.
The Galaxy Z Fold4 has a 6.2-inch external display (2316×904 dots) and a 7.6-inch internal display (2176×1812 dots), both with a 120Hz refresh rate. The device has 12 GB of RAM and 256 or 512 GB or 1 TB of internal memory, dual 4400 mAh battery with support for fast wired and wireless charging. The smartphone has a reverse charge function that allows you to charge other Samsung accessories. The novelty can work with two SIM cards and supports eSIM.
The novelty has a front camera with a resolution of 10 megapixels, and the internal display is equipped with a 4 megapixel sub-screen camera, which “appears” through the screen only when used. The main module includes three modules – ultra-wide-angle – 50 megapixels, wide-angle – 12 megapixels, telephoto lens – 10 megapixels. The FlexCam option allows you to free your hands after the start of video recording and not hold the record button all the time.
The more compact Z Flip4 received a 1.9-inch external screen (260×512 pixels) and a 6.7-inch main screen (2640×1080 pixels). The “clamshell” received the same Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor as the Galaxy Z Fold4, but has only 8 GB of RAM and 128, 256 or 512 GB of internal memory, as well as simplified cameras: 10 MP front and dual main, with ultra wide-angle and a wide-angle module of 12 megapixels. The 3700 mAh battery supports fast wired and wireless charging, as well as reverse charging of accessories.
It is stated that Samsung foldable smartphones received an interface optimized for design features and adapted applications. The new Galaxy Z Fold4 is the world’s first smartphone with Android 12L, which is adapted to the large screens of foldable devices.
