Samsung Company presented Galaxy SmartTag2 is a new generation of proprietary smart tag for tracking things and pets. Sales of the new product will begin on October 11. The smart tag, available in white and black, will cost $30.

The accessory is made in the format of a keychain, protected from dust and moisture according to the IP67 standard. The metal-reinforced fastening ring allows the tag to be used, among other things, for tracking luggage, and also as a name collar for pets.

Galaxy SmartTag2 has a new Lost Mode, which allows users to enter their contact information in a message format – anyone who finds the tag can read this information. Lost Mode works with any mobile device with an NFC module and a web browser. Compass View allows owners of UWB-enabled Galaxy smartphones to see the direction and distance to the Galaxy SmartTag2.

The new power saving mode increases the tag’s lifespan to 700 days, more than twice as long as the previous Galaxy SmartTag. In normal mode, the service life of one battery is increased by one and a half times, up to 500 days.
