Sambo sections in the regions of Chukotka will be opened by the newly created federation

The district sambo federation was created by Dmitry Simonov, a resident of Anadyr. The organization was officially registered in May and is now undergoing accreditation. The initiators plan to open sports clubs in all municipalities of the region, Chukotka news agency reports.
Dmitry Simonov has been practicing SAMBO for about 25 years. Previously, he competed at the All-Russian level competitions, repeatedly became a prize-winner in the Urals Federal District. A candidate master of sports in sambo has been living in Chukotka for four years. During this time, he found five like-minded people. Together they decided to create a district federation for their favorite sport – sambo.
“This is the science of defense, not attack. Sambo not only teaches self-defense, but also provides rich life experience that forms a strong male character, stamina and endurance. This sport forms people who are able to stand up for themselves and their families,” said Dmitry Simonov, Chairman of the Regional Sambo Federation.
It is planned that the organization will be engaged in the implementation of the All-Russian educational and sports project “Sambo to School”. To do this, they plan to invite qualified trainers to the region, as well as purchase mats and sports equipment for training for all municipalities in the region. Support in resolving these issues will be provided by the All-Russian Sambo Federation and the Chukotka Trading Company.
In order to obtain accreditation of the district sambo federation, two regional tournaments must be held. After that, the athletes will be able to represent the district at the competitions of the inter-regional and all-Russian levels.
