Sambists of Buryatia took almost all the gold of the All-Russian tournament

Today, June 10, in Ulan-Ude, the All-Russian combat sambo competitions in memory of OMON officers “Krechet” who died in the line of duty ended. The tournament, which is being held for the 24th time, managed to bring together athletes from 22 regions of our country in one arena.

80 sambo wrestlers took to the mats of the Physical Culture and Sports Complex to measure their strength. All participants demonstrated excellent mastery of sambo technique, however, the Buryat athletes nevertheless proved that they are the best, having taken almost all the gold of the tournament.

As a result, Buryatia has six gold, three silver and eight bronze medals. One gold medal for a sambo wrestler from the Nizhny Novgorod region. The Irkutsk team took one silver and five bronze medals. One silver for the Novosibirsk team and one bronze for Tyumen.

All winners will receive the title of Master of Sports.

“In sports SAMBO, we still have room to grow, but in combat, we have stronger traditions, which is why today we have such success,” Badmadorzho Zhigzhitov, President of the Sambo Federation in Buryatia and deputy of the People’s Khural of the Republic, comments. Today, the Sambo Federation is faced with the task of raising the level of classical and wrestling. And, according to my forecasts, another five years, and we will have a winner in sports sambo in Buryatia.

It should be reminded that yesterday, on June 9, the All-Russian competitions in sports sambo in memory of the hero-border guard Nikolai Petrov were held. As the organizers of the event noted, the Buryat athletes lost to their rivals from Krasnoyarsk, who confidently took the first positions in the tournament table and took five gold, three silver and one bronze medals. According to the results of the tournament, the Buryat team won two gold, three silver and nine bronze medals.
