Sambist from Buryatia won bronze at the World Cup

A sambist from Buryatia Bato Damdinov became a bronze medalist at the International SAMBO Cup dedicated to the memory of the founders of this sport in Russia – Anatoly Kharlampiev, Vasily Oshchepkov and Viktor Spiridonov. The tournament was held in Moscow on September 10-11 and brought together athletes from 13 countries, according to the telegram channel “Mother Buryatia”.
Bato Damdinov won bronze at the tournament in the weight category up to 71 kg. On the carpets of the Moscow Martial Arts Center, sambo wrestlers from more than 13 countries competed for medals.
It should be noted that at the Russian championship, held in February in the Sverdlovsk region, Bato also won a bronze medal, for which the Sambo Federation of Buryatia awarded the athlete a cash prize of 100 thousand rubles. Thanks to the victory in the Russian championship, Bato received a ticket to participate in the World Cup.
