Saldo spoke about the cleansing of the territory near the Antonovsky bridge from the Armed Forces of Ukraine

On the night of July 1, servicemen of the Dnepr group of troops finally cleared the territory on the left bank of the Dnieper near the Antonovsky bridge, Acting Governor of the Kherson region Vladimir Saldo said on his Telegram channel.

“The soldiers of the special forces carried out a surprise attack from the rear, approaching from the side of the river in boats. By 3 o’clock in the morning, the stronghold and the hotel where the Ukrainian militants settled down were taken,” wrote He.

According to Saldo, soldiers from the Storm detachment, the 61st Marine Brigade, the 126th Coastal Defense Brigade, the 127th Reserve Brigade and the 205th Motorized Rifle Brigade took part in the operation. The servicemen showed “courage, determination and resourcefulness”, and the enemy was “stunned and defeated.” There are no Ukrainian “bridgeheads” on the left bank of the Dnieper, he added.

Earlier this week Acting Regional Governor informedthat Russian servicemen sank six boats with 30 Ukrainian servicemen who were trying to cross to the pillars of the Antonovsky bridge on the left bank. According to him, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have not created any bridgeheads near the Antonovsky Bridge, and therefore the enemy has no offensive potential. At the end of May, Saldo announced that the Armed Forces of Ukraine had overcome the peak of military capabilities, which is why the enemy is afraid to launch a counteroffensive.
