Acting Governor of the Kherson region Vladimir Saldo said that Russian President Vladimir Putin keeps the situation in the region under constant control after the destruction of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station and the flooding of the territory.
“The president is interested in the situation: what is happening, how it is happening,” Saldo said on the air of Rossiya 24.
He added that Putin “repeatedly dials and asks” him. The president is “constantly in control of the situation,” Saldo stressed.
Earlier, Saldo said that, according to preliminary calculations of PJSC RusHydro, the Dnieper will enter its channel below the Kakhovskaya HPP by June 16. According to him, more than 6 thousand people were evacuated from the flooded territories, 1.7 thousand were settled in temporary accommodation centers.
