Sakhalin will host Swimcup races beeline

The Swimcup team announced the Champions Cup series swims to be held in Aniva Bay. This was reported in the press service of the Ministry of Sports of the Sakhalin Region.

The competitions that started on May 28 in Moscow Krylatsky traditionally brought together the strongest amateur swimmers who not only strive to take places on the podium, but also enjoy the most picturesque locations in our country. In total, 21 starts will take place in different parts of Russia, but the organizers call the start on Sakhalin, which will take place on September 2, unique.

“These are long-awaited, first-ever swimcup~beeline races on the Pacific coast. Here people are the first to meet the dawn of a new day, and it is here that the new calendar year begins eight hours earlier. I am sure that the devoted fans of our swims are in the same anticipation of this start, which I am in, – shared his emotions the multiple world champion in swimming and the organizer of the starts Evgeny Bezruchenko. “I want to thank the Ministry of Sports of the Sakhalin Region and everyone involved in holding it for their support.”

Along with the Classic circuit, swimmers are offered to try their hand at a new race format – the 16,000-meter challenge. For the linear distance “Ultra 16000” participants will be divided into groups of 4-5 people. Each of them will be accompanied by a boat moving at the declared pace of the team. If one or more participants fall behind, they will be removed from the swim. A transfer is organized at the start of the race.

For better acclimatization and preparation for the start, everyone will have the opportunity to stay at sports and tourist camps organized by the friends of the project.

As the organizers emphasize, the sports program will be closely intertwined with the cultural one: participants will be able to visit two excursions (Tikhaya Bay and Cape Velikan with a picnic on the seashore), go on a sightseeing tour of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, and also taste local cuisine, the real pearl of which is seafood .

Traditionally, each participant will receive a starter pack before the swim from the organizers and partners, and each swim finisher will bring a commemorative medal.

In addition, it was decided to call this year’s series of starts the “Cup of Goodness”. Part of the funds raised will go to help special athletes – the wards of the Leader Foundation, who will have a chance to take part in special competitions in Kazan.
