Sakhalin Sharks on January 14 won an away match against the SKA-Varyags team. The game in St. Petersburg was the first on the road in 2023, the press service of the island hockey club reported.
The owners of the site were active, regularly forced the goalkeeper of the Sakhalin Sharks to work. However, in the attack, the Sakhalin team acted much better, and individual skill played a big role. The Far East scored the first two goals in the first and second periods.
The owners of the site were able to recoup a little only after they received a numerical advantage. The Sharks successfully recaptured the first one, but they failed to cope with the second one and conceded the first goal.
However, the island team scored twice more in the third period. “SKA-Varangians” were able to break through the gate only at the very end. But this did not affect the result in any way – 4:2 in favor of the Sakhalin Sharks.
On January 15, the teams will play one more match. Beginning at 21:00 Sakhalin time. The match will be shown live on the official YouTube channel of the MHL.
