Sakhalin Sharks lost to MHC Atlant on the road

On Monday, December 19, the Sakhalin Sharks played the second away match of the regular OLIMPBET JHL Championship against MHC Atlant. The game ended with the victory of the Moscow region team with a score of 3:1. This was reported in the press service of the hockey club.

The day before, the teams had an incredibly productive match – the fans saw 11 goals scored and the Sharks won in overtime. The new day gave a new character to the match. The coaching staffs made changes in the teams, and the game became more viscous and difficult. Right before the game, the Sakhalin Sharks announced striker Artem Atanov as the 13th forward, replacing Andrey Romanchenko.

The main change in the composition of Atlanta was the replacement of the goalkeeper. Instead of Danila Kornilov, Vladislav Lyubimov appeared in the game. At the same time, the owners of the ice took the game completely into their own hands. The starting game segment was completely behind the yellow-blues in terms of the game and the shots – 15:4. The puck was deflected by the Sharks’ goalkeeper Roman Rybakov, the defenders blocked it, there was even a hit on the post with a ball rolling along the ribbon of the goal.

However, Atlant failed to score in the first period. But Sakhalin left the last minute of the period and they squeezed the maximum out of it. First, Alexander Morozov earned the first removal of the hosts, and 14 seconds after the resumption of the game, Anton Danilov, not without the help of a rebound, scored a goal.

In the second game segment, the Far East began to attack a little more often, but the general nature of the match did not change. “Atlant” leaned on the gate of Roman Rybakov and still found a way for the puck behind the ribbon. Alexey Egoshin threw from an acute angle, the puck flew up on a ribbon and fell somewhere under the goalkeeper’s shields – the judges watched the video replay for several minutes and nevertheless decided to count the goal. In total, by the end of the second period, the shots score was 30:11.

Towards the end of the period, the Sharks received a double minority, but survived at the start of the third segment of the game. However, Atlant used the next violation – in the sixth minute after Nikita Nekrasov’s shot, the puck ended up in the net. The goal had a negative impact on the island team and a minute later another puck appeared in its gates – Ivan Mikhachev became the author of the goal. The “Sharks” took the coach’s request to interfere with the goalkeeper, but they did not see the referee’s blocking and issued another fine to the Sakhalin team.

Atlant held the initiative and brought the number of shots to 44 by the end of the game. However, the hosts failed to distinguish themselves more. In the last ten minutes, they were more focused on defense – the Sharks built up pressure and organized some kind of final assault. However, it did not come to truly dangerous throws. In the end, Atlant almost threw into an empty net, and then got the majority, but continued to hold the defense. The result of the game is 3:1, the victory of the Moscow Region team.

Atlant climbs to second place in the Silver division, while the Sharks remain in fifth place. The next matches the island team will play in Stupino against the “Captain”, which is now leading the division table.
