Sakhalin residents won three medals at the mas-wrestling competition “Caucasus Cup-2022”

Sakhalin mas-wrestlers won three medals of the All-Russian competition among boys and girls “Caucasus Cup-2022”. Starts were held from 9 to 11 December and brought together 70 athletes from 12 regions of the country. This was reported in the press service of the Ministry of Sports of the Sakhalin Region.
The island region was represented by Maxim Merkulov (up to 80 kg), Mikhail Demidenko (up to 80 kg) and Mikhail Russkikh (+80 kg).
According to the results of the competition, Maxim Merkulov won the Caucasus Cup in his weight category and fulfilled the standard of a candidate for master of sports. Mikhail Demidenko became the bronze medalist.
Mikhail Russkikh, who competed in the heaviest category, also managed to win the competition cup and fulfill the CCM standard.
