Sakhalin residents became prize-winners of the European Mas-Wrestling Championship

Sakhalin athletes Fedor Abramov and Mikhail Russkikh won silver and bronze medals at the European Mas-Wrestling Championship and Championship. The competition took place in the Slovak city of Brezno, the regional Ministry of Sports reported.
Sakhalin residents competed as part of the Russian national team. Both athletes are students of the president of the Mas-Wrestling Federation of the Sakhalin region and the coach of the Poronai sports school, Evgeniy Borozny.
Fedor Abramov competed in the “men, up to 90 kg” category. He defeated nine opponents and reached the final, where he fought with an athlete from Brazil. The Sakhalin resident lost to his opponent with a score of 1:2 and took second place. Mikhail Russkikh won bronze in the absolute weight category of the championship (over 80 kg).
In the team competition of the championship and championship, the Russian team took first place.
