Sakhalin alpine skiers won bronze in the team competition of the Russian Championship

Team competitions were held in Kamchatka, where the Russian Alpine Skiing Championship is being held. Nine teams, starting from the 1/8 finals, competed in a knockout play-off system. Island athletes took bronze, the press service of the Ministry of Sports of the Sakhalin Region reported.

The Sakhalin team started the competition from the quarterfinals, where its rival was the Krasnodar Territory.

“The guys from the sunny Krasnodar region imposed a serious fight on Sofya Krokhina, Dmitry Pyshkin, Rinata Abdulkayumova and Artem Kashintsev. After four races the score was 2:2 and the fate of reaching the semi-finals was decided by additional indicators. According to them, Sakhalin athletes turned out to be stronger, ”said the Russian Alpine Skiing Federation.

In the semi-finals, the Sakhalin team lost to St. Petersburg and got into the small final, where they competed for bronze with Moscow.

After four races, the score was equal (2:2), and additional indicators brought bronze awards to Sakhalin skiers (Sofya Krokhina, Dmitry Pyshkin, Rinata Abdulkayumova, Artem Kashintsev).
