“Safe Roads”: an online Olympiad for schoolchildren has started

The All-Russian online Olympiad “Safe Roads” has started and will last until October 15. Students in grades 1-9 will be able to test and improve their road literacy. The organizers of the Olympiad are the Ministry of Transport of Russia, the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, ANO “National Priorities” with the support of the Ministry of Education of Russia and the national project “Safe Quality Roads”.
“Improving the safety of road users is the most significant component of the national project “Safe Quality Roads.” We pay special attention to child safety in this matter. Schoolchildren can consolidate their knowledge by taking part in the All-Russian Olympiad “Safe Roads,” said Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Marat Khusnullin.
The online competition is being held for the fourth year in a row; almost 10.5 million schoolchildren have already improved their road literacy levels thanks to participation in the Olympiad.
Participation in the Olympiad is free of charge on the educational platform “Uchi.ru”. Those interested must register and from their personal account go to the Olympiad page. The tasks are divided into 2 blocks: for children in grades 1-5 and grades 5-9.
It should be noted that not only knowledge of traffic rules, but also good roads help improve road safety. During the first 4 years of implementation of the national project, over 3.2 thousand sections of the regional and local road network leading to children’s educational and leisure institutions were repaired. Work continues.
