RBC, with reference to the organizations “Organization of Help for Patients with Cystic Fibrosis” and “Help for Patients with Cystic Fibrosis”, reported that in Russia, patients suffering from cystic fibrosis are faced with a shortage of the important drug “Pulmozim”.
As the publication clarifies, this drug is produced by Roche, which is located in Switzerland. The company stopped supplying this drug to Russia in February last year. Roche representatives explained this by economic factors.
Patients with cystic fibrosis were offered an analogue of the drug – Tigerase from Generium. But it is not suitable for all people; some patients have been reported to be intolerant to the drug.
