Experts and doctors told who in Russia should get vaccinated against the new strain of COVID-19 “Pyrola”.
According to scientists, the new strain is the next version of “omicron”. Currently, no cases of this strain have been identified in the Russian Federation. However, some departments are already introducing preventive measures. In particular, Government House employees were required to wear medical masks and significantly reduce the number of business trips.
Omicron has recently been able to accumulate many mutations. “Pirola” is older than other subvariants of “omicron”. This strain began to spread widely only when it had sufficiently mutated,” said Mikhail Bolkov, senior researcher at the Institute of Immunology and Physiology of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Olga Ustinova, an expert at the Hemotest laboratory, in turn added that vaccination should be given to those who come into contact with a large number of people.
