The State Duma spoke about a bill introducing payments for spouses for a long marriage
A bill on payments for long marriages has been introduced to the State Duma. The head of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs, Yaroslav Nilov, spoke in detail in an interview with RT about this project.
According to him, in Russian regions money is paid to married couples who celebrate their wedding anniversary. But, for example, in St. Petersburg the cash payment is 50 thousand rubles, and in some sparsely populated city – only 5 thousand. In some places these payments are not provided at all.
Nilov added that the law needs to be moved to the federal level so as not to discredit people depending on their place of residence.
The parliamentarian noted that financial incentives will help provide couples with a festive mood on their anniversary.
