Citizens of the Russian Federation are offered discounts on travel and parking for separate waste collection. This initiative was put forward by the chairman of the Association of Natural Resources, Roman Korniets, RT reports.
The author of the project approached the head of government Mikhail Mishustin with this idea. The social activist proposed a flexible mechanism of incentives – it will include measures for citizens, residents of villages and villages. The first category will receive discounts on travel on public transport and on parking spaces; the second group will be able to obtain a free permit to fish and collect firewood.
Korniets stated that waste sorting is not yet popular enough in Russia, but in recent years the initiative has developed noticeably. It is primarily worth introducing waste separation in megacities, since they generate most of the waste, the initiator concluded.
