Russians want to work in the field of artificial intelligence and support its restrictions

Over 72% of Russians consider neural networks, big data and the development of artificial intelligence (AI) the most promising career areas, follows from a survey of the Avito Rabota platform over 10 thousand people over 18 years old. At the same time, half believe that the development of AI should be limited for ethical reasons, since this can negatively affect the labor market and the development of society.
Over 52% consider the development of robotics promising, and 48% are interested in developments in the field of “smart” devices. Among the popular areas are 3D visualization and modeling (46%), as well as medical technology (42%). Less interest is in genetic engineering (28%), environmental innovation (25%) and space development (25%).
A third of respondents do not understand what to do in the field of technology, 30% do not know where to get an education in IT, and one in five believes that there are not enough job offers on the market. Another 19% are sure that IT has low salaries, and only 4% consider technology areas unpromising. Only 10% worry about irregular working hours in IT.
