Swiss authorities are considering the possibility of allowing entry for Russians under sanctions, subject to their participation in peace negotiations on Ukraine. This was announced by the press secretary of the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) Fabian Maienfisch.
“The ban on flights through Swiss airspace is not absolute and provides exceptions for flights carried out for diplomatic, humanitarian or medical purposes,” he said.
Earlier, Swiss President Viola Amherd reported that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky expressed a desire to organize a peace summit on Ukraine. Zelensky’s office also expressed a desire to hold summits to approve the Ukrainian “peace formula.” Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis stressed that holding a peace conference without the participation of the Russian Federation is impossible.
